Family Conferencing
Juvenile Client and Family Services of the Fifth Judicial Circuit selects youthful offenders to participate in this restorative justice program: a group resolution process focusing on repairing and strengthening relationships when offenders admit wrongdoing.
The conference also provides the opportunity for the victim to explain how they were harmed and ask questions of the offender.
The conference ends with a reparation agreement in which all participants decide how the offender can make things right, or “pono” with the victim.
