Independent Living Program
Independent Living Program: Young adults ages 17 to 22 lacking the attitudes, skills, and resources for independent living are provided a safe family setting in which to learn and practice the necessary skills to successfully transition into adult life.
Independent Living Program is contracted by the Office of Youth Services for young people, ages 17 to 22, who could benefit from additional skills and supportive guidance to attain self-sufficiency.
Youth live with Professional Parents who provide for safe exploration and practice as a more independent person.
Typical activities include high school completion, enrolling in post-secondary education or training, maintaining employment, and demonstrating financial literacy, a healthy lifestyle, and community integration.
